Faithlegg’s Alex King made four birdies in his last six holes to win the Multi Cargo Ltd sponsored Leinster Boys U16 Amateur Open at Beaverstown.

Out in level par after making two birdies and two bogeys, he birdied the 13th, 14th and 15th to nip in front on three-under.

He then finished bogey-birdie-bogey for a two-under 70 and a one-shot win over Roganstown’s Patrick Keeling and Moyola Park’s Corey Scullion.

Keeling bogeyed the last but took second place after a countback from Scullion, who was the recent winner of the Ulster Boys U16 Close.
