Flogas will sponsor the Irish Scratch Series with the first event at Seapoint Golf Links on 29 June selling out in 48 hours.

The 18-hole tournament for male and female amateurs and professionals is the first competitive tournament that these players will have played in since lockdown on the 16th of March.

The response to the tournament reflects the hunger for these players to get going again on the competitive field.

The event will feature a host of elite professionals including Gavin Moynihan, Conor Purcell and Leona Maguire and top amateurs such as Olivia Mehaffey, Annabel Wilson, Max Kennedy and Gerard Dunne to name but a few.

The field of 104 players will compete for a total prize fund of €1100 with a 1st gross prize of €500 up for grabs.

Maximum handicap allowed is 9 for ladies and 6 for men so the overall standard of the field is extremely high.

The event has been kindly sponsored by Flogas, who are loyal supporters of both professional and amateur golf in Ireland and play a key role in ensuring these events go ahead.

Due to the lack of tournaments available to Professionals and Elite Amateurs in Ireland due to COVID-19, Golf Event Management company, GK Events and PR responded by organising a series of events which will give players the opportunity of competing at a very high level.

The Irish Scratch Series events will take place every Monday for the next ten weeks and will begin in Seapoint Golf Links on the 29 June.

The plan is to move the event to different golf clubs around the country over the coming weeks.

The second event will take place again at Seapoint on 6 July with the timesheet opening at 3 pm on Sunday 28 June.

Early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

Entry fee is €50 for Amateurs and €40 for professionals and must be paid by card only on check-in at the pro’s shop.
