Graham wins Spanish Seniors; Bornemann fifth

Ireland’s Steven Graham won the Spanish International Senior Amateur Championship at Meliá Villaitana in Alicante.

Playing out of East Sussex National, the Irish senior international followed rounds of 67 and 66 with a one-under 71 to win by three strokes from Spain’s Jacobo Cestino on 12-under par 204 at the Benidorm venue.

England’s Alan Mew and Scotland’s Robert Jenkins tied for third on five-under 211 with Douglas’ Karl Bornemann tied fifth on four-under par alongside European Tour referee Jose María Zamora.

Graham opened with a 67 and followed that with six-under 66 to lead by three from Cestino before matching his Spanish rival with a one-under par closing round.
