Grant and Coulter survive cut at Portuguese Ladies Amateur

Italy’s Alessia Nobilio will take a seven-stroke lead into the final round of the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship at Montado Hotel & Golf Resort.

The world No 5 carded a three-under 69 to lead on 11-under par from Spain’s Carla Tejedo and compatriot Matilde Innocenti Angelini with Danes Smilla Tarning Sønderby and Natacha Høst Husted eight shots behind in a tie for fourth with Spain’s Marta García-Llorca.

Lisburn’s Paula Grant made five birdies but had to settle for a two-over 74 and a share of 25th on four-over. She will be joined in the final round by Kirkistown Castle’s Beth Coulter, who made the eight-over cut for the top 40 and ties on the mark after a 75.

Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross missed out by four shots after a 75 with Hermitage’s Kate Lanigan 71st after a ten-over third round.
