Ireland beat the Czech Republic 4-2 in their final round-robin match and will face England for the title in the weather-affected Octagonal Trophy at Club de Golf Costa Ballena in Spain.

Heavy rain and the threat of thunderstorms forced the organisers to cancel the morning foursomes matches on day three at the Cadiz venue.

But the men in green continued where they left off against Spain by winning three and halving two of their six singles against the Czechs to top the Red Group.

Wins for Robert Brazill, Eanna Griffin and Matthew McClean and halved matches for Rowan Lester and Peter O'Keeffe were enough for Ireland to consign title holders Spain to second in the group and the third-place play-off with The Netherlands today.

England topped the Blue Group with a 100 percent record as they followed wins over Italy and Germany with a narrow, 3.5-2.5 victory over the Dutch.

There were wins for Sam Broadhurst, reigning North of Ireland champion Arron-Edwards Hill and Sam Bairstow and a halved match for Jack Brooks.
