Gavin Moynihan and Pádraig Harrington carded four-under 68s to go into the final round of the 100th KLM Open within striking distance of their first top-10 finishes this year.

Moynihan, who is 158th in the Race to Dubai, played well from tee to green and made five birdies to move up to tied 23rd on seven-under-par at The International in Amsterdam, leaving him just two strokes outside the top 10. Scores

Harrington is just one stroke further back on six-under though Paul Dunne had a disappointing finish, dropping four shot in his last seven holes in a 73 that saw him slip to 53rd on three-under.

Sergio Garcia and 26-year-old Englishman Callum Shinkwin shot 66 to share the lead on 15 under par, two shots ahead of Danish rising star Nicolai Højgaard, who is making just third European Tour start in Amsterdam.

The 18-year-old carded six birdies and a bogey to sit alone in third at 13 under, one shot ahead of Englishman James Morrison.

Matt Wallace set the clubhouse target with a stunning course record of 63 courtesy of ten birdies and one bogey to shoot up to 11 under and was later joined by fellow Englishmen Steven Brown and Matthew Southgate.

Swede Joakim Lagegren was in eighth at ten under, while 2016 Ryder Cup star Thomas Pieters, Dane Jeff Winther, South African George Coetzee, Chile’s Hugo Leon, Spaniard Eduardo De La Riva and home favourite Wil Besseling were one shot further back.

Lashley, whose parents and girlfriend were killed in a plane crash in Wyoming in 2004, won his first tour title at the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit in June after slipping into the field as an alternate.

On the PGA Tour Champions, Darren Clarke followed his opening 67 with a 75 to fall from fourth to 35th in the The Ally Challenge at Grand Blanc in Michigan.

He’s two-under par, 10 strokes behind Jerry Kelly.
