Kennedy wins U18 title in Faldo Series Grand Final

Royal Dublin’s Max Kennedy completed a memorable season when he closed with a six-under 64 to claim the Under 18 title and finish third overall in the 23rd Faldo Series Grand Final at Al Ain Equestrian Shooting & Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates.
A Boys international who finished third in the Bridgestone Boys International Order of Merit this year, Kennedy made seven birdies in the final round, including five in a bogey-free homeward nine of 30 strokes to finish on five-under par.
He won the Under 18 title bu three shots from Australia’s Adam Brady on five-under par and finished just five shots behind England’s Arron Edwards-Hill in the overall championship.
Edwards-Hill started the day four shots behind South Africa’s Dylan Melville, but like Kennedy, he fired an inspiring 64 to win by two shots from the overnight leader on 10-under par.
Joshua Davenport was tied 20th on four0over with Sean Keeling (34th), Leah Temple Lang (42nd), Corrina Griffin (47th), Lucia Masding (55th), Dan Byrne (57th), Shannon Hegarty (60th) and Jude Kane (61st) completing the Irish challenge.
Temple Lang was sixth in the Girls U 21 section with Griffin sixth in the Girls U 16s, Davenport sixth in the Boys U21’s and Keeling ninth in the Boys Under 16s.
