Portumna’s Suzanne Corcoran retained her Irish Senior Women’s Close Championship at Monkstown Golf Club.

A 3&2 winner of Donabate’s Pat Doran in the semi-finals, she beat The Heath’s Catherine Reilly by the same margin in the final.

Reilly beat The Island’s Gertie McMullen 4&3 to reach the decider but while she was all square at the turn against Corcoran, she fell two down with five to play and could not come back from there.

Newcastle West’s Joan Scanlan won the Plate with a 2&1 win over Royal County Down Ladies’ Kate Evans.
