Leona Maguire is just four shots off the lead after carding a three-under 69 on her Symetra Tour debut in Illinois.
She finished with three bidies in the Forsyth Classic at Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur to share 23rd place behind South Africa's Stacy Bregman, the Czech Republic's Karolina Vlckova and American Anneliese Newell, who shot seven-under 65s.
"I wasn’t really nervous at all, felt pretty comfortable," said Leona, who birdied her 15th, 16th and 17th holes.
"It was nice being first off and that grouping was pretty familiar as well, so it didn’t really feel like all that new of an environment. Anytime you can break 70 is always a good round.”
Stephanie Meadow, his is fifth in the money list race for 10 cards, shot a two-under 70 to share 39th with Lisa Maguire tied 131st after making two birdies and five bogeys in a 75.
