Arizona State's Olivia Mehaffey carded an eight-over 79 to slip six shots behind LSU's Claudia De Antonio heading into Sunday's final round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Hilton Head Island.
The Banbridge native (20) didn't make a birdie on a day when just two players in the 92-strong field broke par at Long Cove Club, and after opening with a 66 to lead the tournament, she's now tied for eighth on three-over par.
De Antonio shot a one-over 72 to lead by a shot on three-under-par from Alabama's Lauren Stephenson with Maria Fassi (Arkansas), Emilia Migliaccio (Wake Forest), Brooke Riley (Northwestern) and Jillian Hollis (U. of Georgia) a shot further back on one-under.
Duke's Leona Maguire, the world number one, carded a three-over 74 to move up one place to tied 14th, seven shots behind the leader on four-over with Lisa Maguire 38th on nine-over after a 75.
Auburn's Julie McCarthy is 54th on 11-over after a 78.
