The Island's Paul McBride will play in both sessions on day one as Great Britain and Ireland attempts to win the Walker Cup on US soil for only the third time.

The 21-year old partners Scotland's Connor Syme at number two in the foursomes against US Amateur champion Doc Redman and his Wake Forest team mate Will Zalatoris.

England's Matthew Jordan and Scotland's Robert MacIntyre will debut in the singles.

Alfie Plant, who leads off the foursomes with Harry Ellis against Collin Morikawa and Norman Xiong, is rested in the afternoon.

Scott Gregory and Jack Singh Brar go at No 3 against Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Champ with Welsh pair David Boote and Jack Davidson facing Maverick McNealy and Doug Ghim.

McBride faces Morikawa, 20, in the singles.

The Californian won the 2017 Northeast Amateur and was the Sunnehanna Amateur runner-up, losing to Braden Thornberry in a three-hole playoff. He also tied for second in the Trans-Mississippi Amateur.
