McElroy starts well in France

Dermot McElroy fired a one-under 70 to lead the Irish after the opening round of the  Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge on France.

The Ballymena man is six adrift of Chile’s Mark Tullo and Ryan Evans who carded seven under par 64s on seven under par at the top of the leaderboard.

The lead by one stroke from France’s Mathieu Fenasse with Ruaidhri McGee and Chris Selfridge seven behind after 71s.
