McNamara wins Munster PGA outing at Castlemartyr

Monkstown's Cian McNamara carded a five-under-par 67 to win the Munster PGA Winter Series outing at Castlemartyr Spa & Golf Resort.

The former South of Ireland and Junior Open champion went to the turn in four-under and was five-under after 10 holes before closing with eight pars in the Premium Golf Brands series event.

He won the ProQuip sponsored event by a stroke from Lahinch's Paddy Sheehy, who had eight birdies in a 68 with David Ryan third with a one-under-par 71.

Pádraig Dooley and John Sugrue were fourth and fifth respectively after level par 72s with the Assistants' Prize going to Darragh Morrissey and the Over 45s to Liam Burns.
