Hynes heads Irish PGA qualifiers

Leo Hynes booked his place at the LowFuelCard.ie PGA Irish Championship by winning the second qualifying event at Dundalk on Monday.

The Killiney professional topped the leaderboard with a two under par round of 70. Scores

Ninety players lined up hoping to earn one of 56 spots on offer in the Championship which takes place Oct 1-4.

A play-off was required for the final four spots in the field, with Leonard Owens (Royal Dublin GC), Thomas Johnston (Castlerock GC), Cormac Power (St Helen's Bay GC) and Graham Sweeney (Balbriggan GC) making it through.

Details of the final field will be released ahead of the tournament.
