In-form Moynihan lurking again

In-form Gavin Moynihan is lurking just four shots behind South Africans Luke Trocado and Rupert Kaminsky in the South African Stroke Play Championship at Port Elizabeth Golf Club.

Trocado posted a five-under-par 67,while Kaminski from Parkview closed with a flawless 66 to join the Atlantic Beach golfer in pole position at nine-under-par 135.

The pair finished a stroke clear of overnight leader Ewen Ferguson of Scotland and two ahead of Frenchman Ugo Coussard after both signed for 71s.

Moynihan is tied for sixth on five under par 139 after adding a 71 to his opening 68.

Seven of the nine-strong irish contingent made the cut.

With Cormac Sharvin (74) and Gary Hurley (72) tied for 17th on two under and Jack Hume (71. 143), Dermot McElroy (72, 144) and Robin Dawson (72, 145) all made the last two rounds.

But the heroics came from Stackstown's Richard Bridges, who stormed home in five under 31 for a brilliant 69 to make the three over par cut on the mark. 

Whitehead's John Ross Galbraith bounced back, followinghis 81 with a 69. But the Close champ missed out by three while Warrenpoint's Colm Campbell, struck down by 'flu at the weekend, ended up on 151.
