Ireland retained the European Senior Men's Team Championship with a 3.5 - 1.5 win over Sweden in the final at Sierra Golf Club in Poland.

It was ireland's fourth win in the championship in the past eight years following victories in  2007, 2008 and 2013.

Tom Cleary and Michael Quirke lost their foursomes match 5 and 4 but Ireland were too strong in the singles and wins for Adrian Morrow (5/4), Arthur Pierse (2/1) and Maurice Kelly (2/1) and a halved match for John Mitchell ensured a comfortable victory in a repeat of last year's final.

In the European Senior Ladies' Team Championship in Austria, Ireland beat Sweden 4-1 in the third place match. The Irish team was defending the title but lost 4/.5-0.5 to France, who fell to England in the final 3.5-1.5.
