European Amateur Team Championships: Quick guide

Linna Golf, host venue for the European Men's Amateur Team Championship this week.

Ireland's men's, women's, boys' and girls' team are in action this week in their respective European Amateur Team Championships bidding to end long droughts.

The girls were were the most recent winners, capturing the title for the first and only time in 2009.

The men last won in 2008 with Shane Lowry helping them to back-to-back titles. However, it's been a long wait since then and Pádraig Hogan's side will want to improve on last year's disappointing seventh place finish and challenge this time around in Finland.

The women's team have been waiting 31 years since their last win and will tee it up in Slovenia with high hopes of making an impact while the girls' team goes for glory in Slovakia.

The Irish Boys team also looks strong and having finished fifth behind France last year, they will be keen to notch what would only be Ireland's second win in the competition since 1998.
