McGee and Murphy lurking on Europro

Rosapenna’s Ruaidhri McGeeRosapenna’s Ruaidhri McGee fired a super 66 to go into the final round of the Europro Tour’s HotelPlanner.com Championship with a chance to win his maiden professional title.

McGee had seven birdies and three birdies on his card at Dale Hill Golf Club in East Sussex to trail England’s Paul Maddy by one stroke ahead of the final round.

Maddy shot a five-under-par  65 to take the slimmest of leads over McGee and James Webber on seven under par with Waterville’s Mark Murphy just three shots off the pace after a second round 67.

Limerick’s Tim Rice is not out of the reckoning on two under after a second successive 69 with Mick McGeady seven behind after a pair of 70s.

Former Walker Cup player Paul Cutler added a 70 to his opening 72 to make the cut over par cut on the mark.
