Leona Maguire tops at Hermitage

Picture by Pat CashmanSlieve Russell’s Leona Maguire claimed the Hermitage Ladies Scratch Cup by three strokes from Moate’s Amy Farrell and New Ross’s Mary Dowling.

Joint leader at lunchtime following an impressive, three under par 70 matched only by Dowling, she wrapped up the 42nd Hermitage Scratch Cup with a level par 73 in the afternoon.

Defending champion Lisburn’s Paula Grant closed with a one over par 74 to finish fourth while Casltetroy’s Chloe Ryan, with a best in the afternoon 73, finished fifth.
