Paul McGinley and Graeme McDowell will team up in the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China.
With top man Padraig Harrington officially pulling out, McDowell was Ireland's qualifier at 30th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
That earned him the right to choose his partner and 86th ranked McGinley jumped at McDowell's offer to tee it up.
McGinley and McDowell played together for Europe in the 2006 Royal Trophy in Thailand, winning both their matches.
A field of 28 nations will tee it up on the Olazabal Course at Mission Hills from November 27-30.
