Stephen Browne needs a sensational last round in the Challenge Tour Grand Final to grab his tour card.

But the Dubliner promised to "give it a rip" after a third straight 69 left him six shots off the pace in Italy.

Browne needs to finish in the top-two to regain his card through the top 20 in the rankings.

Tied for 12th on six under, he said: "I really have to try and make it happen tomorrow. There are opportunities out there and I have to just give it a rip and see what happens.

"If I can get going and post a good number then hopefully the guys in the last matches will get a bit nervy and drop some shots.

"I need a bit of luck but I feel capable of getting a low round in tomorrow so hopefully I can post a score."

Welshman Jamie Donaldson leads by a stroke on 12 under par from compatriot Stuart Manley in the race for the €42,800 top prize.

But Glasson's Colm Moriarty, who also needs a top-two to get his card, needs a miracle after a four over par 75 left him 14 shots off the pace.
