There was no confirmation of an Irish Open place just yet but Seamus Power could still be reasonably content on Friday as a two under 70 left him tied for fourth in the United Leasing & Finance Championship in Indiana.

The West Waterford golfer is on five under par at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, five strokes behind Bhavik Patel, who added a 69 to his opening 65 to lead by two strokes from Brandon Hagy on 10 under par.

It could have been a lot better for Power, who birdied the fourth, seventh, ninth and and 15th to be seven under for the tournament.

But he made a double bogey six at the 17th after a poor tee shot to fall back to two under for the day and end up five behind Patel who was second in the Brasil Champions in early April.
