Gary Hurley and Gavin Moynihan shared fifth spot as Frenchman Ugo Coussaud claimed the South African Stroke Play Championship at Port Elizabeth Golf Club.

Hurley was two over par after following an opening birdie with a triple bogey seven at the fourth. But the West Waterford man then made another eight birdies in his final 13 holes for a 66 that left him alongside The Island's Moynihan (71) on eight under par.

Scores

Ireland had five players inside the top 25 with Naas' Jack Hume (71) tied 17th on three under and Stackstown's Richard Bridges (70) and Faithlegg's Robin Dawson (71) joint 24th on one under.

Coussaud carded a final round four-under-par 68 to clinch a three stroke victory over South Africa’s Rupert Kaminski on a winning score of 15-under-par 273.

Ballymena's Dermot McElroy (71) and Ardglass' Cormac Sharvin (73) tied for 32nd on two over.
