Irish trail in South American Amateur in Lima
Irish quartet Chris Selfridge, Paul McBride, Paula Grant and Maria Dunne are off the pace after the opening round of the 10th South American Amateur Championship in Peru.
In the men's championship, Moyola Park man Selfridge shot a one over 73 to trail the leader by seven shots in 19th spot with McBride a further shot back after a 74 at Lima Golf Club.
Masters-bound American Scott Harvey, the reigning US Mid-Amateur champion, shot a 66 to lead by one while in the women's championship, Peru's Lucia Guttierez as the only player to break par, carding a one under 71.
Grant shot a five over 77 to share 13th spot with Dunne from Skerries tied 22nd on six over after a 78.
