Ballyliffin's Brendan McCarroll finished tied fourth in the Alps Tour Colli Berici event near VIcenza to move up to 12th in the Order of Merit.

The Donegal man was three behind overnight leader Stian Hansen starting the day but as the Norwegian crashed to a 79 to finish nine behind winner Alexander Christie of England on one over par, McCarroll had to settle for a level par 71 that left him four off the pace. Scores

A double bogey seven at the opening hole put him on the back foot  and while he would go on to make an eagle and four birdies, he also had four bogeys in an up and down round at Colli Berici Golf Club

Christie might have bogeyed the last but his four under 67 was still enough for a one-shot win over Italy's Nino Bertasio and a winner's cheque for €5,800.

McCarroll earned €1,920 and is now 12th in the money list with €3,271 from five starts with Simon Ward 74th and Brian Casey 79th with just over €500 each after five events.
