Two more rounds for Power

Seamus Power had to dig deep to make the cut in the $300,000 eGolf Tour Championship at Hilton Head.

The 27-year old West Waterford star, now based in Charlotte in North Carolina, shot a two under 70 on the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall Plantation Club to makee the last two rounds on the one under par cut mark.

He's tied for 54th spot and a massive 12 shots behind Charleston's Ryan Nelson, who looks poised to add career win No. 6 to his loaded tour resume.  Scores

The five-time tour winner, who played arguably the best golf of his career this year without earning a single victory, followed up an opening-round 64 with a 5-under 67 on Thursday afternoon to reach 13-under 131, good for a two-shot lead heading into Friday’s third round of the lucrative 72-hole event.

Power will at least be pleased that he has two more competitive rounds before he heads to West Palm Beach for the final stage of the Qualifying School.

The former East Tennessee State University star, based in the US full time since late 2010, leads the eGolf Gateway Tour money list heading into this week's season-ending event but could be overhauled by leader Nelson, who is third on the money list.
