The 18th at Limerick Golf Club.Castletroy’s John Kavanagh added an afternoon 70 to his opening 72 to take a one stroke lead into the final round of the Munster Mid-Amateur Championship at Limerick Golf Club.

He heads the qualifiers on level par 144 from Cork’s Gary O’Flaherty and Greystones’ Alan Condren with Kevin Condren, also of Greystones, just two shots off the pace after a pair of 73s.

Birr’s Joe Lyons is lurking on three over with Headfort’s Tom Hogan on 149 and reigning South of Ireland champion and title favourite Pat Murray from the home club six shots behind after rounds of 74 and 76.
