Kearney tied fourth in Thailand

Dubliner Niall Kearney fired a four under par 68 to move up to tied fourth entering the final round of the first stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School in Thailand.

The former Walker Cup player is on eight under par, three shots by leader Sam Cyr of the United States after a third successive sub-par round at Springfield Royal Country Club near Hua-Hin.

The resort will host next week’s final stage where the top 40 and ties will earn Asian Tour cards for 2012.
