Amateur ace Danielle McVeigh will turn her attention to Europe after missing the 72-hole cut in the LPGA Q-School in Florida.

The Royal County Down player failed to qualify for the fifth and final round after carding a 79 at the Legends Course to finish on 27 over par at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.

South Korea’s Aree Song was the top qualifier after a closing 73 on the Champions Course left her two shots clear of amateur Jessica Korda.

Galway born Alison Walshe finished tied for 33rd after a final round 74 featuring two bogeys and 16 pars.

McVeigh will join Martin Gillen at the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School finals this week.

The event begins at La Manga in Spain on December 15.
