Rory McIlroy might have turned 20 on Monday but he hopes the 17th at Sawgrass will be child's play.

The Ulster kid is hoping he can repeat his computer game form when he takes on the dreaded 17th on his Players Championship debut.

He joked: "I'm looking forward to the challenge. I've had loads of holes-in-one at 17 on the PSP!"

After watching Ricky Hatton knocked cold by Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas on Saturday night, McIlroy's keen to avoid a Sawgrass KO and head to the 3 Irish Open next week with his confidence sky high.

He played a practice round Baltray last week and predicts low scoring.

He said: "I was six under playing the last. There is no rough and if there is no wind, the guys will be shooting low."
